If you're a frequent visitor to Markets by Dream Day, you'll know that we employ a few amazing makers to run our store. Learn more about the people who make Markets by Dream Day possible.
If you’ve been to Markets by Dream Day in the past two years, chances are you’ve met owner and CEO Sarah. She started out as a maker herself, running Dream Day Cookies until the success of the brick and mortar Markets store made it too difficult to continue both businesses as once. The brains behind the store’s operations and marketing, Sarah loves everything about supporting local and is passionate about helping others like herself find success in a retail space.
Known to many as Market Mama, Lynne is the sweet face of the Brooklin store and started out with Dream Day Cookies, baking and loaning out her basement to her daughter for the first ever Markets by Dream Day permanent vendor space. Most people who pop in know her by her smile (although, in COVID times, they’re missing out). She’s also the owner of Mom’s Relish, which can be found in both Markets locations.
The boss babe behind Mei Designs, Carolina can also be found running ship at the Bowmanville store – from restocking and cashing customers out, to doing live videos and posting about vendors on our social media channels. Without her support, courage and words of wisdom, Markets by Dream Day wouldn’t be what it is today.
Lisa is an empowerment coach and the owner of Spit Up and Sippy Cups, a business devoted to the empowerment and uplifting of womxn. She’s also a mom to two very active boys. Passionate about both shopping and supporting local businesses, you can usually find Lisa working at one of our locations, or spending all her shift money on the goodies and treats at the store.
What started out as a part-time gig restocking the shelves for Pink Lemon Décor soon turned into a seasonal position working at the Brooklin Markets by Dream Day location last year. Lisa couldn't wait to return, this time at our new Bowmanville location, and you can see her smiling face every weekend. When she’s not at Markets or working for Pink Lemon you can also find her chasing around her energetic, full of sass little girls, Emma and Peyton.
Elaina has been a part of the Markets by Dream Day family from the beginning – being Sarah’s sister and all. She first started working with Sarah, decorating cookies for her Dream Day Cookies business, later helping Sarah renovate and set up the Brooklin and eventually Bowmanville location, and now helping in the stores on cash and customer service. Outside of work, Elaine is dog mom to her new pup Nova and is a maker herself, creating handmade woodwork through Rustic E Woodwork.
Joe is new to the Markets by Dream Day staff team, but he’s been a vendor at the Bowmanville location since it first opened. A woodworker by trade, you can find his luxury charcuterie and cutting boards and other custom woodworking projects at his booth, Madera by Joe, at the Bowmanville location. Outside of Markets, you can find him in his workshop or relaxing at home mixing music, playing video games or baking up a storm in the kitchen.
